From the earlier it was reported that Vidya Balan would soon be seen in a Mahesh Bhatt film. Well, now we hear that the film in question which is an adaptation of Srijit Mukherji's Bengali film, Rajkahini, will be titled Begum Jaan after the main protagonist, the madam of the brothel.
The film will feature eight women, but ’s Vidya's character would be the central one, the actress also believes the movie script to be an interesting one.
These inmates are being urged to move out but knowing they will be savaged outside these walls they hold firm, despite growing pressure to vacate.
The film depicts the life of 11 women living in a brothel, which is divided by the newly-formed Line of Control. Due to this, half the house fall in India, while the other half in Pakistan.
Set in the outcome of Bengal partition in 1947, Begum Jaan will hit the floors in June.
Set in the movie, titled as Begum Jaan, Vidya will be seen playing the character of a spirited and strong woman, which was essayed by Rituparna Sengupta in the original film.
According to a report, the central protagonist of the film that was played by Rituparna Sengupta in the original will be essayed by none other than Vidya Balan.
According to report for Mahesh Bhatt’s next project — Srijit Mukherji's Bengali film Rajkahini — Vidya Balan has been signed in to play the lead character of a brothel madam.
He will be adapting the Bengali movie in Hindi for its Bollywood remake, said that this will be Vidya’s most challenging role of her career.
