Today World Wildlife Day, and a number of folks have been speaking up about the need to nurture and conserve wildlife.
Actress and environment lover, Raveena Tandon, who has been part of several efforts to do so, shares a no-holds barred conversation on the subject.
Speaking to a leading daily, she says, “Somewhere, I feel that humankind has lost the very basic feeling of compassion they ought to have toward animals. Humans have become so self-centred today that there needs to be more awareness created for our fellow species on the planet. And days like World Wildlife Day make people more aware, whether it’s through social media or through medium like a newspaper, to drive the need home. I believe every insect, every bird, flower and animal, was put on the planet with a reason and we must co-exist with them. There is an entire cycle of life that one has to follow and we must help other species thrive.”
