Another star kid is ready to make an entry in Bollywood. Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan is commencing with his first feature film project. The revelation was made by Aamir’s daughter Ira Khan, who took to her Instagram to wish her brother luck on bended knee, with a bouquet of flowers.
Junaid will star in an YRF historical that will be directed by Siddharth P Malhotra. Malhotra’s film is said to be based on a true event and will see Junaid frolicking a whistle-blower who exposes a Godman. Vipul Mehta and Sneha Desai have written this film for Malhotra who previously directed Rani Mukherji in Hichki for YRF. Sharvari Wagh, who is making her big screen debut in Bunty Aur Babli 2, will play the leading lady opposite Junaid in the film.
The yet-untitled film is said to be grounded on a 1862 libel case in which Jadunathji Brijratanji Maharaj, a religious leader, filed a case against a reformer and journalist Karsandas Mulji for writing a libelous article in his Gujarati newspaper. In the article, he questioned the values of a Hindu sect called the Pushtimarg or Vallabhacharya Sampradaya. In particular were allegations that Jadunathji had sexual liaisons with women followers and that men were expected to show their devotion by offering their wives for sex with the religious leader. The article created a great stir among worshippers of the religious head.
Junaid is believed to be playing the role of the social activist and the editor of the newspaper. Junaid, who has been refining his acting skills as a theatre performer is very excited to bag his debut role with YRF. Are you excited to see Junaid on the big screen?
