Seeing the ongoing tension between India and China, Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has allegedly cancelled his multi-crore deal with Chinese mobile brand Oppo.
According to the reports in a leading news portal, Kartik is no longer the brand ambassador of Oppo and has been out of the company. “Kartik has been out of Oppo. He has done this due to the current tension between India and China. Apart from this, it has also come to light that Kartik has become the first Bollywood celebrity to take this step. On June 18, CAIT, Confederation of All India Trades wrote an open letter asking celebrities to leave endorsement of Chinese brands.”
Amid the India-China border tensions, there has been a growing ‘Boycott China’ sentiment in the country. While Indian Government banned 59 Chinese apps like TikTok, CamScanner, Shein, among others, yesterday Indian Army banned 89 apps for its personnel. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also given a call to people to support locally made consumer goods.
An official statement from Kartik Aaryan’s team is awaited. On the work front, Kartik Aaryan will be soon be seen in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.’
