Amitabh Bachchan is one of those few actors whom everyone takes very seriously. When the senior Bachchan appears in a film, it is hard to just ignore it. Add a dash of Farhan Akhtar and treat the film with the winning combo of Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Raju Hirani – there, you have your first UNMISSABLE film of the year!
It took VVC five years to complete the script of Wazir. In fact, it was initially given the working title of “Do” since many names were being considered. VVC had hoped to make this script into his first Hollywood film with Dustin Hoffman. But since it took him so long to complete the script, that dream did not come true.
You may find some similarities between Wazir and The Bone Collector, where Angeline Jolie plays the cop and Denzel Washington plays the sick guy in bed. He also likes to play chess.
You will not be disappointed by the supporting cast either. John Abraham will take the action scenes up a notch. Neil Nitin Mukesh and Manav Kaul have given memorable performances. The chemistry between Aditi Rao Hyadri and Farhan Akhtar is as enticing as the one between Farhan and Amitabh Bachchan.
What’s there not to like? This is indeed the first totally unmissable film of the year. So go for it!
