Tusshar: I want to back all kinds of films which are engrossing
Actor-turned producer Tusshar has been having packed days with little me-time. After attending school for three hours in the morning with his son Laksshya, he attends to his duties as a producer and actor, finalising scripts and getting narrations for potential projects, before hitting the gym in the evening and retiring for the day post 8 pm.
Talking about his hectic days, Tusshar says, I’ve started dubbing for my second film as a producer, already.
I have learnt voice modulation for it. I can’t speak about the film yet, but it’s an interesting space that I’ve explored with it. I also had to help my father (Jeetendra) with his real estate business. Gaining weight when you’re at home is normal, but I continued to exercise to keep that in check. I am not into the virtual video parties; I don’t like them at all. I’ve been to a friend’s place once or twice but that’s about it. Ravie (sister and producer Ekta Kapoor’s son) and Laksshya have kept me busy. With so much to do in the day, right at home, I have barely had the time to myself. It’s been a regimented day, every day, pre-lockdown and even now. The lockdown didn’t change my life much. I have never really had the time to get bored.
When asked what he has learnt as a producer so far, Tusshar says, There’s so much coordination that goes into making a film.
I learnt everything from scratch, right from the paperwork for the rights, handling finance, legalities, the sets. It was such a curve ball for me. Nothing beats hands-on experience. It was tough but it also became very fruitful for me.
Talking about his future projects as a filmmaker, Tusshar says, I have a liking for horror films and comedies have been a part of my repertoire for a long time.
So, both these genres interest me. But it doesn’t mean that I will only make films in these spaces. I want to back all kinds of films which are engrossing. I don’t even mind backing a docu-drama, if it’s interesting enough. The idea is to entertain the audience and give them something that stays in their mind for long.
