The “Titanic” Chemistry Reinvented

Lovely music, lovely story, great performances and an unforgettable chemistry. These are a few things why people just can’t get “Titanic” out of their minds. It’s a pity that there has been no sequel in the making for so many years! But fans of this film will soon be able to see the chemistry once again, perhaps.

Even though this is not a sequel of the hit Hollywood movie, Revolutionary Road is all geared up to bring together two of the best looking people on earth. Kate Winslet & Leonardo Di Caprio will once again share screen space after more than a decade. This one looks like another surefire hit in the making.

Based on a novel by Richard Yates, the screenplay has been written by Justin Haythe. The plot revolves around a young couple living in a Connecticut suburb during the mid-1950s. As they struggle to come to terms with their personal problems while trying to raise their two children, the film shows the breakdown of their marriage.

Will the chemistry of Kate and Leo be seen again? Sure! There will be a few sensitive lovemaking scenes between Leo and Kate once again. But it remains to be seen whether they come across as natural or uncomfortably done. The reason is that the director of the movie is none other than Sam Mendes. Sam is the guy who is remembered for making movies like American Beauty & Road to Perdition. What’s more, Sam is Kate’s husband in real life!
In Kate’s words, “I just kept saying, `This is too … weird,’ And Leo was like, `Oh, get over it.’ And I’m going, `Yeah, a little reminder: You’re my best friend. He’s my husband. This is a bit weird.’” When asked why it has taken them 11 years to work together again, Kate says, “We knew that if we were going to do something again, it had to be something big and emotional,” Winslet says. “`Revolutionary Road’ is so painful and beautiful to read, simply because of the brutality of the honesty that Frank and April end up experiencing together.”
The movie is slated for a December release. That means it will be just in time for being included in the Oscars race! After doing a film like Titanic, Kate and Leo just cannot escape the huge expectations from fans all over the world. But will they be able to live up to those expectations? That remains to be seen!
