Sumona Chakravarti: I did not do Krushna’s show back then and I will not do it right away

She swears never to work with Kapil Sharma’s opponent Krushna Abhishek

Since the time Kapil Sharma started his own show on TV with Comedy Nights With Kapil, back in 2013, there has been a rivalry of sorts between him and other ace comedian, Krushna Abhishek.

Since the time Kapil Sharma started his own show on TV with Comedy Nights With Kapil, back in 2013, there has been a rivalry of sorts between him and other ace comedian, Krushna Abhishek.

However, the rivalry mainly have created by either media or Krushna himself, Kapil has never paid heed to all this. But since Kapil’s mid air brawl with Sunil, Ali and Chandan, things have not been great for the him. While Sunil, Ali and Chandan (he returned later) left the show, Kiku, Sumona and others stood by his side.

In fact, Sumona has once again shown her loyalty to the ace comedian when she was asked if she’ll be interested in joining rival Krushna Abhishek’s show.

She added, “I did not do it (Krushna’s show) back then and I will not do it now,” she said. When asked about the comparisons between Kapil and Krushna’s show, she said, “”I never got into back then and I will not get into it now also. So, it doesn’t make difference to me.”

She also denied the reports of The Kapil Sharma Show going off air, “It’s not true. I am busy shooting for the show.”

She also spoke about filmmaker Anurag Basu with whom she’s worked in Barfi. She said, “I would love to do a film with him (Basu) but he takes three-four years to make one. During Barfi it was a week to ten days of work, so it just happened. If he thinks I suit a part in his film, he will offer me.”

“I have stopped reading newspapers as it is depressing. I keep myself away from religion and politics. I have my opinion, but I share it only with close people.

She continued, I have worked with him (Basu) and he is a great director. I learnt a lot from him. But this is my opinion. If someone else has something to say then it is their experience and opinion. It would be unfair for me to comment on it”.
