Director Shoojit Sircar has confirmed that Irrfan Khan can start shooting a biopic on Udham Singh by the end of this year. Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar’s search for his Udham Singh is over with actor friend Irrfan Khan. The director has confirmed to a leading media channel that the actor, with whom he previously teamed together on Piku, will play the lead role in the biopic of the revolutionary, who assassinated Michael O’Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab in British India in 1940, to avenge the 1919 massacre.

Talking to a media channel, Sircar said: ”I’ve been speaking to both Irrfan and his wife (Sutapa Sikdar), he’s responding well to the treatment and trying to cope with the knowledge that he’s battling neuroendocrine tumor by treating the recuperation in Europe like a short and unexpected holiday. I’m planning to visit him next month. We hope to roll by the year-end (the Udham Singh biopic), but will wait till Irrfan is ready to shoot.”

The news about Irrfan’s comeback movie brings relief to Irrfan Khan’s fans as director Shoojit Sircar has confirmed that the actor is doing well and responding positively to the treatment. Are you happy with this news?
