The Secret Life Of Kareena

Do you know why Kareena Kapoor dumped her boyfriend of 5 years, Shahid Kapur? Would you like to know? Well, nobody really does know! This may forever be one of the biggest mysteries of Bollywood. Did she dump him after she fell in love with Saif Ali Khan, while shooting for Tashan? Or did she dump him before that? Or, did she not dump him at all, but got dumped by him?

Spectra Multimedia Films, a Production company that works in the Regional Film Industry, is all set to reveal the truth on the Big Screen. They have decided to make a 20 crore budget film called The Secret Life Of Karina. The name has been deliberately spelled differently, to avoid legal hassles. A source from the Production company reveals, “The film is inspired from the lives of Shahid Kapur, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. The film will be based mostly on media reports. It’ll show the underbelly of Bollywood. We are not cooking up anything. These stories were published. We will be showing the whole incident of the Shahid-Kareena smooch and even the one when Kareena snubbed Saif’s sister Soha Ali Khan.”

The character inspired from Saif will be called Saifee in the film and will actually be a mixture of the real life “Saif and Salman”. Karina, the character, is also rumored to play a prostitute in the film. Shahid has been changed to Shaheed, again to avoid legal hassles. A little shuffling of the letters in the characters’ names may not be enough to save this film from legal issues. This fear is probably the reason why the producers have yet not been able to finalize a cast, even though they claim that the film will go on floors next month. Who’d want to ruin their careers by appearing in a B-Grade film, that is destined to legal doom, and ruffle many feathers in Bollywood?

While Shahid and Kareena have decided to stay mum on this news, Saifee is understandably miffed, publicly. Here’s what Saif has to say, “I am a little upset that my character is called Saifee. It should have had a cooler name, Sameer or something like that. But honestly, on a more serious note, it can be very offensive for Kareena. I think it is a tasteless thing to do, trying to get excitement and publicity based on Kareena`s life. Abroad, people do write tacky stories based on celebrities` lives, but this is India. I also read on the net that the main character of the film is supposed to be a prostitute; I think that`s not funny at all. I am half amused and half disgusted.” Aaaah! The pain of love…

Though Saif is not exactly amused or excited about “The secret life of Karina”, it is a good subject for a film. The public curiosity about the most famous love triangle of recent times, gives this film huge potential for success. The only problem is that it may never get released, due to the obvious legal issues. Will the producers be able to get permission from the real Kareena, Shahid and Saif? Or will they be able to produce and release the film? Let us hope so!
