Strange as it may sound, ‘Roar’ a film with no known stars has trumped the other movie ‘Super Nani’ released this weeked at the Box Office. Not much was expected out of both the films since ‘Happy New Year’ is still going strong at the counters and is not showing signs of slowing down. However, this was not expected that a film which has stars such as the indomitable Rekha and Sharman Joshi would get overshadowed by a movie without any stars. 

Super Nani collected Rs. 45 lacs on its opening day and the theatres showing the film across the country were empty. In comparison, Roar collected Rs. 1.65 crore on its opening day and by day two, the movie has managed to collect Rs.3.70 crore. With just a Sunday now left to end the weekend, the film should be able to rake in about 5 crore in the opening weekend. Not bad for a movie, which did not receive positive feedback from the critics.

Roar has been appreciated by the audiences for its effects. However, its performance too has been affected adversely at the Box office due to the continuing successful run of Happy New Year. Happy New Year has now entered the Rs. 300 crore club at the box office worldwide. It remains to be seen, if it will cross the collections of Dhoom 3.
