Choreographer-turned-filmmaker Remo D’Souza, who has directed films such as ABCD, Flying Jatt and Race 3, admits that the film industry has more or less come to terms with the fact that films will have to be released on OTT platforms for the time being. He says, “Initially, we all felt the reluctance, we thought it would be better to wait for the COVID-19 pandemic to get over and then release a film, especially if it was a big-budget film. But, now, people have realised that it could be a long process and it may be a while before people return to theatres. Industries across the globe are helpless when it comes to releasing a film in cinema halls.”

Remo adds, “Today, we have no choice, but to feel happy that a film is releasing on other platforms and that people are watching it at home. It is more feasible than a film not releasing or losing an opportunity to connect with viewers.”

Remo might have become a filmmaker, but has no plans to act.
