Rakul Preet Singh made her Bollywood debut with ‘Yaariyan’ (2014), and after a four-year-long gap and a string of films down South, her next Hindi release was ‘Aiyaary’ (2018). She followed it up with ‘De De Pyaar De’ (2019) and ‘Marjaavaan’ (2019). Though it took Rakul some time to find her feet in Bollywood, the actress refutes that it has anything to do with being an ‘outsider’. Rakul says, “I have never believed in the insider-outsider theory. This is a debate that started only recently. I believe that only talent will help you last longer at the end of the day. People will give you an opportunity if you are hard-working and talented. I have found the industry very accepting. Let’s face it, having contacts can help you get an opportunity, but it is the audience that accepts or rejects you.”
With two films completed, two on floors and two lined up, Rakul would have had a busy year at theatres.
She further adds, “Though we love the big screen, each platform has its own advantages.
Rakul is among the few Bollywood actresses, who are an established name in the South film industry as well.
