The distressing second wave of deadly COVID-19 is spellbinding the country and there’s an outpouring in coronavirus cases. Former film critic and journalist Rajeev Masand is in critical condition at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. He was hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19 and his oxygen level went down.
As per media reports, Rajeev is on the ventilator, and the doctors attending to him have labeled his condition as critical. Many Bollywood celebrities have taken to their social media platforms and are praying for the speedy recovery of Rajeev. A source close to Rajeev Masand told a news channel that Rajeev’s condition is critical due to which he has been shifted to the ICU and then ventilator.
Rajeev Masand has been in the field of journalism for the last 25 years and is 42 years old. Last year, Rajeev Masand left journalism and joined as a Chief Operating Officer in Karan Johar and Bunty Sajdeh’s new talent management company ‘Dharma Cornerstone Agency’.
Rajeev Masand started his career in journalism at the age of 16 with Times Of India. He then worked as a film journalist in Indian Express for a few years. He also joined Star News (now ABP News) as a film critic and journalist. He hosted the show ‘Masand Ki Pasand’ in Star News where he used to review movies.
The COVID-19 second wave has hit Bollywood hard, with a number of celebrities being spotted with the virus and some even succumbing to it. Recently, retired army office-turned-actor Bikramjeet Kanwarpal passed away on Friday due to COVID-19 complications.
