Radhika Madan, who was last seen in ‘Angrezi Medium’, took to Instagram to share a series of gorgeous pictures of her look for the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards. Setting the internet on fire, the actress was seen in her silver sequin sari with a simplistic sleeveless blouse. Her wavy tresses and au naturale make-up complemented her look oh-so perfectly.
In ‘Angrezi Medium’, she played the character of Tarika Bansal aka Taaru.
This drama film also starred Irrfan Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Deepak Dobriyal. While posing with her award in another Instagram post, Radhika wrote: “First win for Taaru. So so so grateful to have gotten the opportunity to work with the most amazing team! Dinoo and @homster I love you. @deepakdobriyal1, @kareenakapoorkhan @pankajtripathi, @ranvirshorey, Dimple Ma’am Thankyou for letting me share the screen space with you… it was no less than a dream. And @irrfan Sir who I had the privilege to call my father for those 120minutes. Thankyou for being you. Miss you. #angrezimedium.”
Earlier, during an interview with Bombay Times, Radhika spoke about working with Irrfan.
She said, “It’s the way he used to treat everyone with respect on the sets. I was a newcomer then and he was THE Irrfan Khan. It wasn’t required or you wouldn’t imagine that a star, like Irrfan Khan comes to you and asks “how do you see the scene?” It takes you aback. It’s because you have this picture in your head that ‘ woh bolenge uss hisaab se karenge’. But he coming to you and asking about the scene, speaks a lot about how secure he is as an actor, where he is as an actor. A person who has reached the top knows that it won’t do any harm if I ask my co-actor how they see the scene. It just gave me a lot of confidence to perform because I’m not a daughter, I am a character. It was his respect that gave me this confidence to speak my mind and perform. Respect and equality is something that I would want to keep with myself throughout my life.” This film, directed by Homi Adajania, hit the screens in March 2020 before the nationwide pandemic-induced lockdown was imposed.
