Filmmaker Onir is “fully vaccinated” and ready to get the cameras rolling on his next exciting venture titled ‘We Are’. The upcoming film is a sequel to his National Award-winning 2011 film ‘I Am’.

The director recently headed to the Kashmir valley, where he has been doing a recce for his upcoming film.

“Our lives are not only about struggles, but also about emotion, beauty and celebrations and this is what I want to do with my film,” he added.

The director has found his leading lady in Nimisha Sajayan, who made her film debut with ‘Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’ and followed it up with critically acclaimed films like ‘Eeda’ and ‘Oru Kuprasidha Payyan’. ‘We Are’ will mark her debut in the Hindi film industry.
According to a report on Filmfare, ‘We Are’ will go on floors in September 2021 and the rest of the cast is expected to be finalised soon.
Onir, who has been working on a number of projects, revealed that his filming schedules were all derailed due to the covid-induced lockdown. Opening up about his ordeals, he said, “Everything got affected. I was supposed to start shooting a film last February when the entire COVID thing started. Recently, I was shooting for an Indo-Italian art project and we finished the first schedule and realised that things were getting terrible so we decided to postpone.”

“A lot of the things I had planned, like even the sequel to my film ‘I Am’ got postponed. However, my problems are still nothing compared to what people are going through today,” he added.
