Can you imagine India’s most loved goons Munna Bhai & Circuit as anyone other than Sanjay Dutt & Arshad Warsi? Bet you can’t!
We don’t know how it began or who started it. But a rumor has been doing the rounds that Munna Bhai 3 will have Aamir Khan & Sharman Joshi playing these two famous characters. It is being said in all the filmi circles and tabloids that directorRaju Hirani is so impressed with the work of Aamir & Sharman that he has decided to use them in his next Munna Bhai flick.
What do you make of this? Can Aamir & Sharman bring the same goofiness and beauty to these characters that have been immortalised by Sanjay & Arshad? The first reaction of most people is “NO! How can they do this? We want original Munna & Circuit!” But as tabloids and newspapers spread the rumor, people realise that what they want hardly matters. Industry insiders have been spreading rumors that Raju enjoyed working with Aamir on 3 Idiots immensly. It was while shooting for the film that Raju supposedly mentioned to him the sequel to Munna Bhai. So apparently Aamir got very interested and asked for the script.
Considering the waning popularity of Sanjay Dutt & Arshad Warsi, and the success of the idiots, it is hard to doubt this piece of news. But if you are a Munna Bhai fan, then fikar not re! All this story about Aamir becoming Munna Bhai is just a crazy rumor and nothing more.
In a recent interview, Raju Hirani has clarified that he has no plans to cast Aamir & Sharman in the Munna Bhai series and has not even discussed this with them at all! Raju is very sure that whenever he starts shooting on the third Munna Bhai film, it will be with Sanjay Dutt & Arshad Warsi.
So this is yet another lesson to us in taking everything with a pinch of salt…especially where it comes to Bollywood rumors!
