Balaji Telefilms has one more enemy: another disgruntled actor. This time, it is Pulkit Samrat aka ‘Lakshya Virani’ from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The young actor has accused Balaji Telefilms of non-payment of dues and a restricting contract. It has often been reported by the media that production houses use such arm-twisting tactics to keep their star performers hooked to their never-ending shows.
The young actor has moved the Bombay High Court where he has filed a petition against Balaji Telefilms. Mumbai Mirror went to the extent of reporting that the court had given a verdict in the actor’s favour. It is learnt that Balaji Telefilms is considering to get back by suing the young actor as well as Mumbai Mirror. The former for defamation and the latter for making it appear as if Balaji had lost the case, through their reporting.
Just to refresh your memory, a little while ago, Balaji Telefilms had a huge fallout with Rajeev Khandelwal, the lead actor of their erstwhile popular series ‘Kahin To Hoga’. It is another matter that Rajeev today has acquired a place of his own, and commands a huge fan following. It has been reported that Rajeev will soon be seen on the big screen.
It is not the first time that a star from Kyunki has had a fallout with Balaji. Smriti ‘Tulsi’ Irani left the show a few months back to start her own production house. Let us hope that Kyunki does not lose its favourite grandson ‘Lakshya Virani’.
