Talk about films with wedding as the backdrop and Kriti Kharbanda is one actress who aces the genre. And why not, as she has been a part of multiple films where she’s essayed the role of a bride before. From Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana to Veeray Ki Wedding the actress has nailed the bridal look and the character on screen. Interestingly, in one of her upcoming films, 14 Phere, the actress plays a bride once again, this time opposite Vikrant Massey.
A pro at essaying the character, Kriti says that the process of getting ready for the part is very tough and challenging.
She explains, “It is a lot more time consuming than playing a regular character in a film. Wearing the elaborated outfit, doing the bridal make up would eat up a lot of time. That apart I had to wear fake mehendi which would run up till my elbow. Then wrap it up in cellophane so that it doesn’t come off. Imagine doing this every single day! It would take over three hours to get ready. It was quite a task to be sitting in the same position for three long hours while getting ready.”
Interestingly, at the time Kriti was diagnosed with malaria and was asked for a complete bed rest by her doctors.
However, she preferred giving work priority. “Once arrived on sets, I would start getting ready by 3 pm everyday and shoot till 7 am. At the end of this project I felt proud. I realised that come what may I love my job so much that I won’t let anything come in between.”
