Kareena Kapoor holds an enviable place in Bollywood today. She has already worked with all the top banners, directors and actors. So what is the basis on which she chooses her projects now?

Kareena Kapoor has reportedly been roped in for Red Chillies Entertainment’s next project. Ra1 is a superhero thriller, packed with lots of exciting action. Kareena Kapoor has been cast as the female lead in this film, which has been written by Anubhav Sinha. A little birdie tells us that Priyanka Chopra was also very interested in this plum project. But as it happens, this role has gone into Bebo’s kitty.

This is the second time that we will get to see Shahrukh and Kareena paired together in a film. Their first film as a romantic jodi was Asoka, which did not do very well at the box office. But the chemistry definitely did not go unnoticed. The duo have appeared in films like ”Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham”, “Don” and “Billu”, but not as a couple.

It is quite obvious that Kareena wants to associate only with the top banners and prestigious projects. She has recently refused to play model Jessica Lal in Raj Kumar Gupta’s “No One Killed Jessica”. The director has already been critically acclaimed for his Aamir, and people have great hopes from this film as well. But seemingly, the role is not meaty enough for Kareena. In her own words, “I want to do meaty parts with off-mainstream directors like Dibakar Banerjee and Raj Kumar Gupta. But the roles have to justify my presence. I can’t do a bit part in an offbeat film just to prove I can act. Right now, I’m shooting for Stepmom and can’t think of anything. Not even Saif’s film, which is like my own home production.”

Can’t blame her guys! Who would want to play forgettable roles when there is no dearth of big offers? It has been 8 years since Asoka was released. About time SRK and Bebo paired up again for the camera, Right?
