Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan on Wednesday admonished her fans on social media to trail the COVID-19 protocols and comprehend the gravity of the situation as India battles a deadly second wave of coronavirus.
Kareena took to her official Instagram account to share a message for those who don’t wear mask properly or just keep it under the chin. In a long note, Kareena wrote, “It’s unimaginable for me to know that there are still many people who do not understand the gravity of the situation our country is in. The next time you step out, or wear your mask under your chin, or flout the rules, spare a thought for our doctors and medical staff. They are at a breaking point both mentally and physically.”
“Each one of you reading this is responsible for breaking the chain. Now more than ever, India needs you,” she added.
As soon as the actress put out the post, aggravated netizens took to the comments section to point out to her that her cousin Ranbir Kapoor and his girlfriend Alia Bhatt had just returned from a holiday in the Maldives, both of who recovered from COVID-19 not long ago. They also mentioned that her step-daughter Sara Ali Khan too was vacationing in the Maldives and so, she should not be giving ‘gyaan’ on social media and instead setting her own house in order.
India reported 3,79,257 new COVID-19 cases and 3645 deaths on Thursday (April 29), taking the country’s tally to 1,83,76,524. As many as 2,69,507 discharges have been made in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry. Well, we should now be more cautious than ever to curb the graph of rising number of Covid cases in India.
