The first Indian Idol, “Abhijeet Sawant” got beaten up recently. Don’t be shocked. Another “Indian Idol” star Prajakta Shukre got arrested on the same night!
Reportedly, a bunch of these youngsters patried late into the night
at a restaurant in Juhu. The friends were returning in separate vehicles. When they found an empty road in Santacruz, they decided to race!
Prajakta Shukre, who was driving a Honda City at top speed, smashed into two young men on a motorcycle. Reportedly, the two boys got seriously injured and a crowd gathered as they always do. Now our young man Abhijeet Sawant, got out of his Audi, and rushed to the rescue of his lady friend Prajakta. But as it happens, the crowd wouldn’t have any of his nonsense. So Abhijeet got thrashed up by an angry crowd.
When the police got to the site, Prajakta was arrested on charges of negligent driving. As of now Prajakta has been granted bail and released on a bond of Rs 3000. The police is said to be investigating whether they group comprising Prajakta and Abhijeet were in an inebriated condition. The fate of Prajakta now depends on the results of this investigation.
Whatever happened to the “safe driving”, “speed control” and “drunken driving” campaigns that our celebrities give their names to? Are these just meant for the aam aadmi?
