After a 12 hour long finale, Idol Pawandeep Rajan took home the trophy, a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh and a brand new Maruti Swift!

This has been the most viewed season of Indian Idol. While everyone has been raving about ‘Greatest Talent Ever’, the fact is that all the contestants that were chosen to compete have already established themselves as singing sensations. These are not your ordinary neighborhood singers that auditioned, were chosen and went on in the final rounds. These kinds have already competed in various other reality shows, they have trained in music and have already made a name for themselves. This is why the thousands of youngsters that stood in long queues for auditions have felt cheated by Sony Television. This is also why season 12 got so popular, because this was the clash of titans!

Although the makers really pushed Arunita Kanjilal, the public was clear in its decision. Right from the beginning of the show, Pawandeep has been a clear favorite amongst the public and also amongst all celebrities who visited the sets. So naturally Pawandeep Rajan won the show and is Indian Idol 12! Congratulations to Pawandeep and all the contestants who entertained us for almost a year. All these singers have a bright future ahead and we hope to see/hear more of them in the coming future.
