Hina Khan wishes TV actors were given fair chances in Bollywood
Hina Khan is a household name thanks to her stint on the small screen. In fact, the actress also has a couple of films to her credit. In a recent interview, she revealed that despite how things have progressed in the entertainment industry, TV actors are still looked down upon by Bollywood.
Citing an example of how she was trolled when she walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival last year, Hina said that she doesn’t understand why TV stars are looked down upon despite having such successful careers.
The actress said that TV actors work in far more stressful situations, and are often given scripts on the same day that they shoot, giving them hardly any time to learn their lines. In a way, she added, that made TV actors ready to shoot for hours at a stretch. Hina also said that TV actors deserve a fair chance to be able to prove themselves in films and hope things change for the better soon.
The actress is currently seen in one of television’s most popular franchises – ‘Naagin’.
The latest season, ‘Naagin 5’, recently went on air with a new cast, and Hina revealed that although she was not keen on doing TV at the moment, producer Ekta Kapoor convinced her to do the role. Admitting that she is grateful for the opportunity given to her by Ekta, Hina said that she is very happy with the positive feedback that her character has received so far from viewers.
