After working in the industry for almost 3 decades, Akshay Kumar still does not have a single Filmfare trophy for Best Actor. He did win one Best Villain and one Best Comedian, but the Best Actor trophy has eluded him for decades…till now.

Akshay Kumar aka Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia has won the mother of all filmy awards. He has been awarded the Best Actor (Male) award for his work in the 2016 release Rustom. This award puts all other awards to shame when you consider the value of National Awards. Though the public and media are divided on his win, Akshay Kumar does deserve to have his contribution appreciated. He has contributed more to the film industry than the three big Khans. He has worked in more films than either of them, and he has more 100 crore films than anyone else in the industry. People love him for his easy rustic and goofy humour as much as they love to see him kick some ass on the big screen.

Many congratulations to the people’s actor, and we hope to see a lot more of his work in the years to come!
