India’s connection with Russia dates back several decades. The country continues to shower love on actor-filmmakers like Raj Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty. In what seems like a unique collaboration, a leading OTT platform has tied up with the Russian Film Festival which was flagged off in India recently. The festival, with an interesting line-up of movies, will be on till November 27 and can be enjoyed virtually. Ten Russian films from various genres will be available online, introducing content with heroes and storylines that might feel relevant to the Indian audience. Each film in the line-up promises to display an untapped side of Russia and its cinema.
Screenwriter and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, the ambassador of the festival in India, says, “Russia and India have cultural ties that go back a long way.
Evgenia Markova, the CEO of ROSKINO, adds, “We are glad to bring our Russian Film Festival to India – a country that Russia has a lot in common within various fields of culture and creative industries.
The festival brings celebrated and popular romances, dramas, and comedies from Russia.
