Because a latest study says that anger is actually good for your health!
According to this US based study, “couples who suppress their anger have a mortality rate twice as high as those in which at least one partner stands up for themselves!”
The study tracked 192 US couples for 17 years to deduce this conclusion. The study period covers couples interviewed in 1971 and measures survival through 1988.
“The key matter is, when the conflict happens, how you resolve it?” said lead author Ernest Harburg, an emeritus professor with the University of Michigan.
This study looks at how, in a marriage, suppressed anger and the resulting buildup of resentment affects overall mortality rates.
He said that anger buried in you is a lot more poisonous than that blurted out! The idea is to fight out the anger and anxiety and get rid of the “heat” inside your body.
Suppressing anger causes stress, which in turn increases rick of stress-related illnesses like heart disease and high blood pressure.
On the contrary, when we fight and let out all our raging emotions, our body cools down and freshens up.
