Big B Dropped For Not Being Canadian!

The Big B of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan has been dropped from a movie (that itself is shocking enough!) because he doesn’t hold Canadian citizenship! Can you beat that?

This odd tale revolves around an even more oddly titled movie Komagatamaru. And don’t ask us to give you the pronunciation!

You may ask its director though, Deepa Mehta. ‘Guess she just got too bored of naming her movies after the basic elements: Earth, Fire and Water and decided to make up for it in her current project!

Anyway, coming back to the point, Big B has been dropped from the movie. He was supposed to play the role of a Sikh lawyer, who fights for sea lost Indian immigrants who are denied entry into Canada in the early 1900‘s.

Obviously the cinematography of the film requires a lot of Canada and this got the Canadian government excited. So, it decided to give half of the funds required for the movie.

In turn, the lady promised to shoot in the nicest locales around and of course through the film to show how easy it is to get into Canada for citizenship, after the initial big fight is over.

All was fine till the Canadian government woke up to an unknown reality and asked the director if Mr. Bachchan has Canadian citizenship himself.

Has anyone even dared to ask such a question to the Bachchan in the past 25 years? Surely they have no idea bout the BIGGness of the Big B! Nevertheless, rules are rules.

So, Deepaji had to say goodbye to Amitji. Sad.

What’s even sad is the two men being considered to replace Big B in the role: John Abraham and Akshaye Kumar. While John just can’t bring life to his stone face, Akshaye has made his Sikh image too funny for a serious role like this one! It’s surely a tough choice!

But what still remains a mystery is the connection that the Canadian government drew between AB and CC i.e. Canadian citizenship. Any wild guesses?
