The ongoing season of Indian Idol has received a lot of love and appreciation from fans. But like every good thing, this adulation has also come to an end. The downfall started when everyone’s favorite Pawandeep Rajan fell sick with COVID. Pawandeep’s absence for 3 weeks brought the show to its knees. People began to criticize the show’s favorite Mohd Danish who is an expert at ruining classic songs with his ill-modified versions. The eviction of Nachiket Lele was another moment in the show that saw a lot of criticism from fans.
The last weekend’s episode was a tribute to India’s beloved actor-singer-musician late Kishore Kumar. The show promised to showcase 100 songs of Kishore da as a tribute to the legend. Surely a 100 songs were sung, but the manner in which the songs were sung earned a lot of trolling and criticism. The judges began singing the songs themselves in their crooked voices and all legendary songs of Kishore da were ruined one by one. After immense trolling from the public, guest Amit Kumar also joined in the trolling.
Amit Kumar said, “I did what I was told. I was told sabko praise kamana hai. I was told jo jaisa bhi gaaye usko uplift karna hai because it’s a tribute to Kishore da. I thought it will be a homage to my father. But once there, I just followed what I was asked to do. I had told them to give me portions of the script in advance, but nothing of that sort happened.”
