After keeping the fans waiting for long, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has finally announced the new release date of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ starring Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn.
The film will now release on January 6, 2022. Earlier, the film was set to release this year, but due to the pandemic, the makers had to postpone it.
The official handle of Bhansali’s production house took to social media and wrote, “The wait to witness her power, strength & resilience ends. Bringing to you a stem-winding story of #GangubaiKathiawadi on 6th January 2022, in cinemas near you.” Recently, the Maharashtra government announced that the theatres in the state will reopen from 22 nd October. Soon after the announcement, the Bollywood actors and producers were quick to share the new releases dates of the films that couldn’t release last year and this year.
Earlier, Alia left everyone stunned with her first look as Gangubai. Her fans are eagerly waiting to watch her in a different avatar on the big screen.
Recently, speaking about the film, Bhansali told BT, “Gangubai Kathiawadi is a very special film to me. It has not been easy. We made it during the pandemic, and I have given it my all. I can’t wait to share it with everyone.”
