This is that time of the year when the party season is in full swing. Everyone is busy visiting friends and relatives and we all do a lot of entertaining in this last week before Divali. This is why it is great to have new and interesting recipes to try for your guests. Vegetarian Bean Kebabs are a great rceipe to try. They are easy to make, high in protein, delicious and also loved by children!

Vegetarian Bean Kebab Recipe

Ingredients: 200 gm beans (soaked and boiled), 2 potatoes (boiled), mixed vegetables like carrots, green beans, peas and capsicum (also boiled or cooked slightly). You may use kidney beans (rajmah) or black eyed beans (lobhia) for this recipe. You may also substitute beans with chana if you like. You will need spices and seasonings accoring to your taste and refined oil. Coriander and ginger-garlic paste is also required.


Mash all the ingredients and mix together in a large bowl. Season it properly according to your taste. Add in chopped coriander leaves and 2 spoons of the ginger garlic paste. Mix everything well. Now make small kebabs or patties out of this mix and keep on a greased flat surface.

You can either roast the kebabs in an oven or you can shallow fry them in a pan. Children love the fired version better.If you are cooking the in the oven, please rememebr to turn them over after 10 minutes of cooking at 350 degrees F.

Serv hot with coriander and mint chutney or a mint-yogurt based dip.
