Jowar is one of our anciet grains that doctors prescribe even today for good health. Jowar is considered to be especially good for people with Diabetes and for people who are trying to lose weight. Jowar has higher content of Protein, Fibre and other nutrients as compared to wheat or rice. This is why it is considered to be good for health. If you think Jowar roti cannot be as tasty as wheat, think again! This Jowar masala roti will be taster than your wheat rotis!

Jowar Masala Roti

Ingredients: Jowar atta 1 cup, finely chopped onions, grated carrots, finely chopped spinach, finely chopped green chillies, finely chopped herbs like coriander and mint, salt, oil and spices to taste.

In a mixing bowl, mix together all the ingredients and make a soft dough. 

Now heat the tawa and cook the rotis on medium flame. 

To shape the rotis, use your hands instead of the rolling pin.

If you want to use the rolling pin, place the dough ball between layers of polythene and roll it out. This will help in keeping the roti intact.

Smear a little oil on the rotis as they cook on the tawa.

Serve hot with chutney, achar, dahi or sabzi of choice. Enjoy!
