A popular Indian restaurant in England is looking for you if you think you can!
Lily’s Vegetarian Indian Cuisine in Manchester has a thali eating contest going on. All the winner needs to do is finish off this ran thali in under an hour. Think you can do it? What may look like like an average Indian thali is actually far from it. This 7 kilo thali is served on a 24 inch thali and includes 50 different dishes. The grand thali contains 8 kinds of bread, 3 kinds of rice, 16 kinds of sabzi/curry/dal, 3 dips/chutneys, 6 desserts, 2 lassis and 2 savoury snacks like samosa or kachori. How many people can eat 8 rotis or 6 desserts at one time? this is no easy task people!
3 people signed up to tackle Lily’s grand thali recently but not even one was able to complete the challenge in one hour. After receiving nasty comments on their social media, the restaurant clarified that this is just a fun challenge to beat the covid blues. They also clarified that contestants take all the unfinished food home and can also share with friends/family. There is no food wasted at the challenge.
