As per the latest reports, a plant-based diet can cut plaque in the blood vessels and lower risk of diabetes and stroke. Eating fruits and veggies is one of the best things you can do for your health, but omitting other foods may pose nutrient deficiencies.

Vegan food have less saturated fat. Saturated fats, or fats that are saturated with hydrogen, are typically solid at room temperature and are found in meat and animal products. According to medical experts at the American Heart Association (AHA), eating saturated fats upsurges the amount of cholesterol in your blood, which in turn raises your risk for heart disease and stroke. Vegan products have less saturated fat, hence, does not impact your heart adversely. Along with that Vegan food increases Fiber in your diet. Increasing fiber is one way to reduce the bad cholesterol circulating in your body. The fiber helps in keeping your heart healthy.

Total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein, or “bad,” cholesterol levels are much lower in Vegan foods compared with non-vegetarians or dairy products. Moreover, a plant-based diet was shown to be associated with weight loss.

There seem to be many reasons why a plant-based diet is more healthful for the heart than a meat-heavy one. It seems that plants impart some benefits, while meat increases certain risks.
