PM Modi addressed the nation once again today and talked about our fight with Coronavirus. The main point of this speech was that the PM Garib Kalyan Yojna will be extended till end of November. This is the program under which all poor poeple reveive 5 kilos of garina and 1 kilo of dal free every month. This program was launched to ensure that peple receive ration even though they have lost their jobs and livelihoods to Coronavirus.

The PM announced that this program is being extended till end of November so that all poor people have food during the festival season and till Diwali and Chath Pooja. This reference to Chath pooja may have been a shout out to the voters in Bihar! The PM revealed that the government has laid out Rs. 90 crore for this program

Modi ji also talked about unlocking of the economy. He mentioned that personal and social carelessness has been observed in behaviour of the public during unlockdown 1. He cautioned against carelessness, warning that we need to continue to be cautious and careful as India is set to enter Unlockdown 2 on July 1. He advised that we continue to practise handwashing and 2 feet distance, keep wearing masks and take all other precautions.
