Chilled Kheer Recipe - Perfect Summer Dessert

We all know that cold drinks, juices and ice creams are bad for health. But on a hot summer day, what do you eat to cool down and pamper your sweet tooth? Today we bring you an easy recipe for a desi dessert that everyone loves. It can be had hot in winter and chilled in summers! 

Kheer Recipe

Start by soaking 1 cup rice for a few hours. Pulse it in the griner till it breaks into tiny granules.

Now in a large pan, combine the granulated rice and 1 litre of full cream milk. Put it on the stove to heat.

When the milk comes to a boil, turn the heat to low and keep stirring.

Now add in 1 cup sugar, a few strands of saffron, 2 crushed cardamoms and chopped badam-pista.

Keep stirring till the milk reduces to half its volume and the kheer attains a thick constistency.

Your kheer is ready. 

Serve chilled in summers, garnished with saffron strands and pista pieces.
