After the marriage, Deepika is constantly being asked about her next plan on being a mother. Well, Deepika Padukone is slightly annoyed with the 'when are you planning a baby' questions being thrown at her.
In a recent interview with a leading media press, Deepika made it clear that it isn’t fair to put women through pressure by regularly asking them about embracing motherhood.
"It will happen when it has to happen. Motherhood trumps being married. That's what I hear from people who have had children. Of course, it will happen at some point but no, I think it is unfair to put women through that, to put a couple through that. I guess the day we stop asking the questions is when we will bring about change," Deepika said to a leading media house recently.
Currently, Deepika and Ranveer are busy with the shooting of their respective films. On the work front, Deepika Padukone will be seen in the film Chhapaak. The film is inspired by the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Chhapaak also stars Vikrant Massey and is being helmed by Meghna Gulzar.
We do agree with Deepika’s statement on being a wife and facing pressure to embrace motherhood on regular media interactions. It is time that we give some liberties to women to make decisions on their own and not under public pressure.
