You may have often seen an elderly person left alone on their own. They are lonely. Single adults are possibly the loneliest of people around. What makes life difficult for these people?

People who do not have loved ones around them to share joys and sorrows of life, are lonely. This feeling of loneliness if not just 'boredom'. This feeling of emptiness manifests itself in many psychological and physical health problems.

Lonely people are the most likely to get depressed

Lonely people are at high risk for heart disease. In fact, the risk is same as that associated with obesity!

Lonely people are at higher risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.

Do we need any more reason to be alarmed?

If you are single or lonely for any other reason, it is time to change this now. Work on developing your social circle, making new friends and finding joy.
