‘Sanju’ is getting a lot of love and affection from the moviegoers and it seems to create a history at the Box office too. Ranbir Kapoor's Sanju, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, has shattered records callously and materialized as the fourth highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. Just after finishing a month at the box office, the Sanjay Dutt biopic has held its ground and giving stiff competition to new releases for four weeks now.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted the figures on Twitter. "#Sanju crosses *lifetime biz* of #TigerZindaHai Now FOURTH HIGHEST GROSSING *Hindi* film Chasing #PK *lifetime biz* now [Week 5] Fri 45 lakhs, Sat 87 lakhs, Sun 1.15 cr. Total: 339.75 cr. India biz. ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER," he said.
This is Ranbir Kapoor’s first movie to have crossed the 300 crore mark and looks like the success of the film doesn’t limit its wings to Bollywood. Sanju is behind Baahubali 2- The Conclusion, which raked in Rs 510.99 crore and Dangal (Rs 387.38 crore) and PK (Rs 340.8 crore). While Sanju can't beat Baahubali and Dangal, it should be able to overhaul PK in a matter of days now.
Produced by Vinod Chopra Films and Rajkumar Hirani Films in association with Fox Star Studios, Sanju released last Friday of June on 29th.
