Twitter is going aghast at the recent post of Sanjeev Kapoor. Sanjeev Kapoor’s “trial” recipe for ‘Malabar Paneer’ is not acknowledged in good taste by people on social media, who criticized the celebrity chef for screwing with a traditional cuisine mainly known for its non-vegetarian dishes.
Malabar cuisine is a cookery tradition of Kerala with a notable flavor that comes from the use of coconut milk, curry leaves and local aromatic species. Most people in Kerala are non-vegetarians and their local curries include chicken, mutton, beef, or seafood. The fact that Kapoor used paneer in his version of a Malabar curry did not go down well with people as many pointed out that cottage cheese is not used in dishes from the region.
“Malabar Paneer - A wonderful Malabar dish that has the flavors spices and offers several gastronomic opportunities. The food is generally fresh, aromatic and flavored...,” Kapoor tweeted on Wednesday as he shared a video of his recipe. This tweet made the people go mad at the fact that Malabar is only used for non-veg items and not in paneer. Perhaps that is why when chef and TV personality Sanjeev Kapoor shared a recipe for "Malabar paneer" on social media, people were quick to remind him that such a dish does not exist.
The recipe for Malabar paneer collected many angry comments. Are you angry about the post too?
