A lot epends on the quality of rice, of course. Long grained rice like the Basmati will usually cook better and short grained or thick varieties will turn out sticky and lumpy. Tips for Perfectly Cooked Rice

Most people put rice in water and place on the stove to cook. Your rice will turn out much better if you use this one tip that top chefs use.

In your pot or kadai, toast the washed rice a little to warm it up. Toast it till it turns dry and gives a nutty kind of smell.Then add hot boiling water to it so that it starts cooking quickly. Cooking hot rice in hot water gives the best results. Try it tonight!
