The biggest news that kept everyone waiting recently is the news to know who the richest man in the world is for this year. In this daily business life, there are few great names that are competing to stand at the top. The world's richest man is not Microsoft founder Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos of Amazon, whose net worth momentarily overtook the former last week. The wealthiest man on the planet is, in fact, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and according to a renowned financier, he is richer than both of the tech giants combined.
Bill Browder, a US financier, reportedly told representatives last week that the Russian President is richer than both Mr. Bezos and Mr. Gates combined. According to an international media agency, the chief executive officer of Hermitage Capital Management said that he estimates Mr. Putin is worth $200bn.
Previous week Mr. Bezos briefly became the world’s richest person as a result of a gush in Amazon’s share price ahead of the e-retail giant’s earnings report. Shares later fall down again, however, putting Mr. Gates back in the top spot. Mr. Bezos owns around 17 per cent of Amazon’s shares. But the fact is that both Mr. Bezos and Mr. Gates are worth more than $90bn. However, according to Bloomberg data, with Putin occupying the top spot since 2013 has a worth more than many other leaders of the world and exceed the worth rate of $200bn.
So as per the latest updates, Vladimir Putin is leading the charts and is the richest man of 2017.
