I was an introvert all through my formative years and suffered a lot for it. I could hardly make any friends or participate in group activities. Even my college years were filled with self-loathing and regret. It was only after I got my first job that I was able to overcome my natural shyness and gel in with the crowd. It didn't happen overnight. It took a lot of hard work and determination on my part. But what I learned was that I didn't have to suffer silent loneliness all through my childhood and college years. Making friends and mixing into crowds is very easy if you know how to make conversation. So today we bring you tips on how to be a better conversationalist. Tips To Be A Better Conversationalist 1. Choose positive topics to talk about. If you talk of depressing things, you will drive people away. 2. As questions about the person you are talking to. This will give you a wealth of information about them. Also, people like talking about themselves, so they will usually be happy to oblige. 3. Speak less and listen more. You will find it weird how useful this tip really is! 4. Display a genuine interest in people, and in knowing more about them. 5. Don't be too judgemental about people. 6. Don't get into arguments. If you find a difference of opinion coming your way, just agree to disagree.
