Teething usually starts any time between 6 - 12 months of age. It begins with the front
teeth, which are called Milk teeth or even Primary teeth. Once teething begins, it goes on
till the age of three and causes quite some discomfort and pain to the baby. The baby
experiences pain, sweeling and itching on her gums, and also goes through bouts of headaches
and even diarhoea in some cases. As a parent, naturally you would want to eliminate or at
least reduce this discomfort. Here are a few things you can try.

- Icing the gums can soothe the pain and also reduce swelling of the gums.

- Rubbing clove oil on the gums is also very effecting in soothing the pain.

- Buy some teething toys for your baby. These are really effective. Avoid giving her a
pacifier.

- Giver your baby something to chew on. A piece of carrot is a great example. The pressure
exerted on the gums while chewing eases the pain.
