What is happiness? Making money, buying new things, outdoing your relatives, does this really make you happy? Have you ever thought about what makes you happy? Have you ever wondered how many days in a month or in a year are you truly happy? Chances are that most people are truly happy for only few days a year. Why? How can you be happier?
Modern day is so full of tension and stress that we forget to enjoy or present or to be happy. We get so absorbed in our daily struggles that we forget to smile. Here's how you can change things:
- Stop worrying too much. Women usually worry about the smallest of things, so much so that worrying becomes a habit. Kick this habit today. Most things will eventually sort themselves out, and the ones that won't should not be a cause for worry either. After all, if you can't change things, why worry about them?
- Don't equate happiness and success. Not all rich people are happy, nor are all poor people unhappy. Happiness has nothing to do with your position in life or the amount of success you taste.
- Practice happiness! Yes, you read it right. Happiness is a state of mind and you can learn to cultivate the habit of being happy. Just let go of all the things that bother your mind and try to live in the moment.
- Be of use to others. When you help other people, especially the downtrodden, you experience a state of happiness that is unknown otherwise.
Just remember that we don't know if there's another life after this. How many years of this short life have already gone by? Is it wise to waste the remaining years constantly worrying and being unhappy? What is the use of amassing wealth if it doesn't make you happy?
