It is normal to have days when you don't feel like having sex. But, what happens if this extends to over a longer period of time. Having a low libido can affect your self-esteem too especially so if your partner is willing to and wants to have the pleasure of sexual intimacy. So, what are the factors that cause you to have a low sex drive and how can you improve your sex drive? . The first thing that you need to take care of is to get enough rest. Lack of sleep is one of the biggest causes of having a low sex drive.

So make sure that you get at least 8 hours of sleep everyday. The next big cause of having a low libido is stress. Yes, stress can lead to mental depression and physical diseases such as diabetes and blood pressure, both of which are harmful and negatively impact your sex drive. As far as possible, try to lead a stress free life. Meditation can be a good practice to follow. Meditating helps you gain a fresh perspective on life and helps in reducing stress.

Weight gain also leads to lowering of sex drive. Having a poor body image leads to performance issues in the bedroom. Try to lead a fit and active lifestyle and ensure that you do not gain weight. If you are overweight see a nutritionist and try to get into a fitness program that leads to health body weight. 

Menopause can also affect your sex drive as does pregnancy. Relationship issues and lack of intimacy especially for women can also hamper a woman's sex drive. So, try to keep yourself stress-free and lead a fit and healty lifestyle to ensure that you are not left wanting when it comes to sex!
