Delhi high court granted bail of DMK MP Kanimozhi who is in Tihar Jail about more than six months in the case of 2G spectrum controversy. Kanimozhi finally will be free on Tuesday evening.

Kanimozhi is a Member of Parliament, representing Tamil Nadu in the Rajya Sabha and she is the daughter of the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Karunanidhi. Before her entry into politics, Kanimozhi was involved in various instances of journalism.

Radia tapes controversy & 2G spectrum controversy:

In November 2010 media published the conversations between Niira Radia and Kanimozhi. These conversations revealed Kanimozhi’s involvement in 2G spectrum controversy & filtered the information in favour of A. Raja, who was a Minister of Communications and Information Technology during controversial.

On March 11, 2011, Kanimozhi was questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation at the DMK headquarters in Chennai about 2G spectrum scam & On May 20, 2011, the CBI court in New Delhi arrested Kanimozhi & sent to Tihar Jail.

Kanimozhi appealed for bail claiming that she is a women and mother of a young boy. But it got rejected. DMK Chief M. Karunanidhi met his daughter Kanimozhi at thihar jail, they met at the entrance of the jail as Karunanidhi is wheel-chair bound.
