The beginning of a new relationship is so much fun. Even more fun is the first date when you don't know much about each other, but have to try your best to impress your date. Sometimes the urge to impress is so strong that women tend to make wrong decisions. Sometimes we overdo the nonchalant, sometimes we overdo the sexy bit. How do you decide what is the right blend of sexy, decent and smart?

How To Dress For A First Date

The Basics: You want to look smart, sophisticated, sexy and yet decent. The idea is to exude style and not look like a tramp.

Good Ideas

You can never go wrong with jeans. Pair with a good silk shirt or camisole or top to glam yourself up. To add the oopmh, opt for sexy high heels. This is a hot look without looking like you've tried too hard.

If you are seeing your date after work, a nice pair of pants or a skirt can also be glammed up just by adding a dash of make-up. Just make sure that your hair is done well and you look clean/well groomed.

A kurti paired with jeans or churidaar is just perfect. Considering the wide array of kurti designs that are available in the markets today, it is possible to convey any idea you like. Smart, sexy, trendy, sophisticated, homely, professional or anything else!

Bad Ideas

If you are thinking too sexy, don't. So avoid plunging necklines or short hemlines. Don't let everything hang out as if shouting that you are desperate.

Don't over-accessorize. Wearing too many bracelets, necklaces and huge earrings is a bad idea if done all at once. Keep the accessories to  bare minimum. Less is more!

Don't wear too much make-up. Men don't like over-painted dolls. Believe it, they want to see the real you. So go for the minimalistic look. A little gloss, a dash of kajal or mascara and you are done!
