Winters are here and it is so difficult to step out on these cold wintry mornings. So if you have not yet signed up for that expensive yearly subscription for the gym, worry not. Rather than spending that amount, you could buy some equipment and set up a home gym. The advantages of setting up a home gym are many and the foremost among them are that you can exercise at your own time and pace. You do not have to wait in that long line at the treadmill or at the bench press. Also you do not have to worry about what clothing to wear. It could very well be affordable non-branded wear.

Exercising with weights helps build up the strength of your bones and you should definitely invest in buying good quality light weights. It costs about Rs.75/- to Rs.80/- per kilogram and depending on your endurance and strength you can buy the amount of weight you need. Do buy a good yoga mat because stretching before and after exercise is a must. If you are really hard core into fitness, then an exercise machine would do a neat job. An exercise machine costs Rs. 50000/- upwards and allows you to adjust weights for different types of exercises.

You should be able to find all of the above equipment at one store itself. Nowadays keeping in mind the craze for being fit, fitness stores are mushrooming in Metros and smaller cities as well. Just drop in at any of these stores and you will be surprised with the options they offer. Within a lakh of rupees, you would be exercising within the comfort of your home and need not depend on the vagaries of the weather and the whims and fancies of your neighbourhood gym.
