No matter how lovely your skin may be, one harsh winter can ruin it completely if it is not cared for. Your skin becomes dry and patchy during the winter months and the loss of moisture can completely rob you of your good looks and pretty skin. Can you do anything about it? Sure you can! With proper care during the winter months, you can maintain the softness and beauty of your skin throughout the year.

How To Take Care Of Your Skin In The Winters Shower: Do not give in to the temptation of missing your daily bath. A bath is essential for the cleanliness of your skin. But when taking a shower, make sure that you stick with non drying products. Avoid harsh chemical based soaps etc. Immediately after the shower, towel yourself dry and moisturize your skin.

Moisturize: Twice a day feed your skin with moisture. The first "whole-body" moisturization should be scheduled for immediately after taking your shower. The second one is meant to be done right before you go to bed. Choose good quality products that are not laden with chemicals. Buy some heavy duty moisturizing for problem areas like elbows and hands.

Lips: Winters tend to give us dry and chapped lips which can even become painful if not tended to. To avoid such a situation, keep your lips soft and well moisturized. Every night, before going to bed, apply a layer of vaseline on your lips. Your lips will remain pink and soft throughout the winters. It is important that you give a miss to harsh lipstics. Go for a pastel/natural colored lip balm instead.

Feet & Heels: If you wish to avoid cracked heels, give your feet some TLC. Do not take the shortcut with "crack" cream. Give yourself a mini-pedicure at home instead. Dip your feet in warm water for 10 minutes, rinse and apply a thick coat of vaseline. Now wear thick cotton socks and go to sleep. Follow this routine for 10 days and you will meet your pretty & supple feet again!

Hair: Winters leave your scalp and hair dry as well. So give yourself an oil massage at least twice a week. If the situation is too bad, give yourself a deep condition treatment at home. Apply coconut oil to your scalp and massage it properly. After a couple of hours, tie a hot towel around your head, covering all the hair. This will give you a deep moisturizing and conditioning effect.
